This might be my favorite album of all time, if it was even possible to decide. It is an album that deserves to be played at full volume at all time. The first six songs off the album are all perfect, especially the first. The way that it sweeps back and forth from loud to soft is the most beautiful thing I have ever heard in music. thank you fleet foxes for changing my life
Favorite track: I Am All That I Need / Arroyo Seco / Thumbprint Scar.
Crack-Up hits you hard at times and then it comforts you with such sweetness seldom seen and heard in this world. It’s a beautiful work of art all by itself and Fleet Foxes’s most vulnerable and felt album. Gorgeous.
Favorite track: Third of May / Odaigahara.
Crack-Up, Fleet Foxes' long-awaited and highly anticipated third album, comes six years after the release of Helplessness Blues and nearly a decade since the band's self-titled debut. "Rewarding, involving, and meticulous," says the AP, "Crack-Up has been well worth the wait." "Likely to be the most remarkable album you will hear this year," exclaims the Times (UK). "The return of one of the most original bands of this century." Pitchfork calls it "their most complex and compelling album to date."
This album means a lot to me. It has been a comfort for me since the band was releasing singles from it onto Spotify. The full album was released soon after I moved far away from the US for a time, and I would listen to it often to remind myself of home. Even after returning home, it provides endless comfort. I'm so glad to see so many "Simulation Swarm" fans on here; I love the song's poetry and it's genuinely the most comforting song I've ever heard!
A cozy folksy ride. Every track shines. someonescopine
I haven't felt this level of emotion listening to a Jazz piece since I first heard John Coltrane's Africa. This becomes all the more appealing as the ambient portion becomes part of the Jazz. There is much to love here. Captainpandapants
